Oxygen8 generates increased revenues for Phonenumbers4u Ltd

Phonenumbers4u’s partnership with Oxygen8 drives £30,000 of additional revenues in just one month using new £10 SMS code
Premium rate specialist, Phonenumbers4u Ltd, has partnered with Oxygen8 Communications, to introduce and host an expanded range of premium rate SMS services across its client base. Under the terms of the contract Oxygen8 will be responsible for implementing new setups and providing maintenance, as well as monitoring the performance on each SMS code to maximise performance. In addition to these services, Phonenumbers4u will also have access to an "out of hours" support line to ensure any problems which arise get resolved quickly.
Hosted by Oxygen8 specifically for Phonenumbers4u's clients, the £10 SMS code adds significant value to the Phonenumbers4u portfolio. As Richard Howard, Managing Director, Phonenumbers4u explains, “The objective of the initial campaign was to generate increased revenue for our clients using premium SMS services and prove the value of the new £10 SMS code. With Oxygen8 being at the forefront of the premium rate market and an early adopter of the £10 per SMS code, they were the clear choice to partner with in order to drive revenues for our customers and they have not disappointed. Oxygen8 have proven that the SMS Voucher & Coupon service that runs on the £10 code generates more traffic and revenue for our customers than the classic £5 code which is common in the market place time and time again, and customers can clearly see the benefits.”
In order to launch this interactive service Phonenumbers4u required the development of a unique SMS billing model. Together we have developed a unique reseller model, clearly demonstrating its intent to work with Phonenumbers4u upfront. Other providers, including Tanla Mobile and Win, were also considered to take on the majority of Phonenumbers4u's SMS traffic, however the support services provided by these companies were not deemed as reliable, and both suppliers were reluctant to build a unique billing model for the premium messages that Oxygen8 developed.
Howard adds, “We are thrilled with the great results we have received so far from Oxygen8. Traffic on the £10 code which has been allocated exclusively to a handful of Oxygen8’s clients including Phonenumbers4u, has received around £10-£12,000 in its first month of operation and has grown month-on-month ever since. For example, in May 2009 the premium text services generated in excess of £30,000 in revenue.”
Howard concludes, “After using service providers who also deal with Oxygen8 we knew that they were a reliable, reputable provider. Add to this the fact that they emulate the same business model as Phonenumbers4u and the fact that they operate strictly within Ofcom and PPP regulations and it is clear why we chose them as our services partner.
